Programs

Through "experiential learning" our adventure education programs enable individuals to develop and improve a sense of personal worth, confidence, and self-esteem as evidenced by a willingness to try, to seek improvement, and to stretch personal boundaries. Our programs also assist individuals to learn how to function effectively within any group setting. Building team spirit and cooperation through a focus on communication skills, goal setting, problem solving and leadership.

Introduction for High Ropes Challenge Courses
With one of the largest high adventure facilities in the United States we are able to offer groups an experience like nothing else. Our facility offers five high ropes courses, and our individual high elements course. Safety is primary in our high adventure program. A detailed safety briefing and thorough understanding of safety equipment is required before participating in any high adventure activity. The Adventure Education Center operates according to the national industry standards as set by the Association for Challenge Course Technologies.

We find that 3 to 4 hours for our high adventure courses allows groups to reach their goals and fully experience the activity.

High Ropes
Four of our five high ropes courses are designed to accommodate groups of approximately 8-12 participants at a time. The latest addition to our ropes course fleet can handle up to 24 participants at a time. Using these five ropes courses we can accomodate a large number of participants on our ropes courses at any one time. Upon arrival, a certified AEC facilitator will train your group how to use the safety equipment, give a description of the ropes course, demonstrate, teach, and practice all safety procedures with participants. The high ropes are a great opportunity for each participant to go beyond their limits and rely on members of the group for both physical and emotional support. A high ropes experience is sure to be an unforgettable adventure.

Individual High Elements
If you are looking for a different type of high adventure experience, bring your group of up to 36 people out for our individual high elements. This uniquely designed course allows the participants to safely belay each other while being supervised by AEC facilitators. This enables participants to give and receive support and encouragement from his or her teammates. The Individual high elements consist of the following elements: a two person, 45 foot high climbing wall, a 30 foot high trapeze jump and pamper pole, a vertical playpen, and a two person giants ladder.

Initiatives
Our teambuilding programs are designed to build team spirit and cooperation through a focus on communication skills, goal setting, and leadership. Many schools, agencies, and corporations are finding this half-day or full day experience is a perfect tool to incorporate numerous topics into their programs. Using uncommon activities and props we are able to address a number of topics including, but not limited to: teambuilding, trust, communication, cooperation, collaboration, making positive choices, and substance abuse prevention.

Cooperative Adventure Games
These games can be played with groups of 12-36 children. They focus on the principles of working together, group unity, and creativity. These games also encourage a win-win attitude. This option can be paired with the intermediate high elements or the jungle nook for a well rounded experience.

Jungle Nook Challenge
The Jungle Nook is similar to our high ropes courses, only the obstacles are placed low to the ground and designed for young children. Obstacles include a rope swing, traverse climbing wall, zip line, cargo net and more. This program can be used to reinforce concepts such as taking risks, challenge, cooperation, and problem solving. As many as 30 children can work in small groups as they experience many different activities. This well conceived experience can also build a sense of trust for one's self and others.

Low-Flying High Elements
This is a smaller version of our individual high elements and is ideal for any group of children. Safety is always our number one focus, and in this area our trained staff assist the partipants as they work together to keep their teammates safe on each obstacle. The area includes activities such as a cargo net climb, firecracker ladder, tire climb, and a zip line.

Create A Cart
Focus on the 'building' in teambuilding and work together to build a vehicle with your team or group. These activities force team members to be creative in their speech, communication, and idea sharing to accomplish the objective. Time deadlines and specific requirements for the finished product stretch the group's limits which provides an easy link to goal setting and effective ways of accomplishing tasks. This workshop can be done at any location, with any number of people.

Wheels on the Bus:
A Create-A-Cart program designed especially for teachers. A great way to start discussions and set program goals.

Leaky Teaky Regatta
Similar to the Create-A-Cart workshop this activity focuses on building a "sea worthy craft." After creating a craft with your team it is time for a test run in a pond, lake, or swimming pool. This proves to be a highly interactive and energetic way to get your group discussing important topics relating to teambuilding.
